Welcome to the new Vibrant blog, this is the new updated list of our recent work. If you want to see years of our blog history check out our old site
Helen Hunt Falls + Penny Arcade Manitou Springs Engagement Session
For this engagement session I randomly decided to self impose the limitation of shooting ambient or natural light only. Let me know what you think of the results 😊
Garden of the Gods Maternity Portrait Session
This is the continuation of one of my favorite types of stories. Where I got to shoot Joan & Justin’s engagement, then wedding and now their maternity 😊
I’m so privileged to be able to keep coming back and revisiting the life changes of a handful of my clients, and Im so honored people keep coming back 🤍
Chelsea + Jon’s Rocky Mountain National Park Elopement
I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been eagerly waiting for an epic mountain adventure wedding to photograph. And then Chelsea found me! Im so thankful. There was actually a moment when I was trying to get an epic low angle for a wide lit portrait when my mirror I use for reflections fell out of my bag and shattered on the rock in front of me. which turned into an opportunity that made me so happy. I also got very B&W happy with these edits. I hope you love the photos as much as I loved shooting it.
Christopher & Jesuré Engagement Portrait session at Union Station
It’s not always that I get a client who comes along and makes their venue choice based on my preference on what I mention would give me the most inspiration to shoot at. I cannon wait to photograph this wedding. I had so much fun with their engagement session we tried things I havent done in a very long time. As I compile and get ready to publish this blog it's Christmas Eve, so I’m feeling both festive and radically proud of the work I pulled together for this session. I have the best clients in the world and it makes me so happy to do what I do.
Jacob & Laura
Amy & Corey Engagement Session in a Grave yard + Idaho Springs
I feel like I get the absolute coolest clients. I’ve never shot in a cemetery before, and this was also my first engagement portrait session I’ve gotten to shoot in Idaho Springs. the creative juices were definitely flowing. And I hope you feel that looking through these.
Xander’s Surprise Proposal to Bri
I got to take part in a rather complex operation to fool Bri into thinking we were making a video about her staging company and how it relates to the House Hunters Real estate Brand. Since we do all of their real estate photos and video’s the owner Denae Howell managed to bring in her “in house” videographer for the interview. So the video you’re about to see is me clumsily managing the camera handheld since I had to jump right into photo’s immediately to capture the family all coming out of the woodwork for the surprise. So I hope this glimpse into their moment is heartwarming for you.
Lilly & Austin - Wedding @ The Lobby Denver
I was called the week prior to this wedding to ask if I was available because the previous photographer (amongst other reasons) said that 9:00 was past their bedtime… theres more to it than that, but I find that line rather comical. The result is I met some of the most incredible people that I’ve all but fallen in love with. Sometimes connections are quick, and this was one of those times. I absolutely love this family and I feel so honored that I got to be a part of their day.
Isabeau & Joseph - Wedding in Colorado Springs
Weddings, first looks, families, love, tears, bliss, dogs, babies, dancing… God I love my job
One of the Most beautiful places I’ve ever photographed a wedding in
Everything about this wedding had me in awe. The couple, their community, the venue, the weather. Everywhere I looked was this picturesque photo op that just had me feeling like a kid in a candy store. It’s taken me a while to get to featuring this wedding on the blog and I have so many more to post. but I am gasping for air in between shoots and my focus is on delivery rather than the blog, but do watch instagram if you want to keep up with some of the coolest shoots we’ve been doing recently ☺️
Joseph & Shawnee
My favorite things about about this wedding include but are not limited to:
The fact that the venue is the grooms parent’s home
the mother of the groom is a brilliant photographer
the bride got ready in the mother of the groom’s photography studio
the groom’s entrance was an epic walk down to “Icon” by Jaden Smith
at the “you may kiss the bride” moment, the groomsmen provided the groom with a mirror to check himself and breath freshener to make sure he was prepared for the moment.
the venue essentially has a bridal suite, indoor/outdoor reception space with separating garage door and double groom suite, and epic field with views for days all together in this little known property. its amazing.
the family and friends participating added up to essentially a bajillion people.
the sense of community and influence the family has had on the entirety of everyone present is really apparent and emotional to observe.
Clint & Kristen
This engagement involved a good deal of discovery for me. new locations I’ve never shot at before and doing so around blue hour just made it so magical for me. The vibes were immaculate.
Joan & Justins Flying Horse Wedding
Downtown Colorado Springs Magical Engagement
Its shoots like these, evenings like these, light like this, venues like these that just make me love my job you know? Shooting with Joan and Justin was like shopping for friggin candy as an adult, still awesome, why is that only a kid related activity when people make this metaphor? I cannot wait to shoot their wedding this summer at flying horse. They’re obviously stunning, so the prospect of photographing them in an incredible venue makes me very excited
Samantha & Lance Engagement Session at the Mining Exchange Downtown COS
This year has been a bit of a “re-self-descovery” in the realm of the enjoyment of photography. I finally got my hands on a Nikon ZF, which aside from being outside of my normal canon pantheon of body’s and lenses, it’s also retro styled to where it handles like a film camera. little things like the ISO wheel bing a large dial on the top, to having to put the camera down to grab my other gear, created this pace for me that made me slow down a little bit and really enjoy the process of working with Samantha and Lance. I had soooooo much fun creating in the session with them! I hope you can feel that in the images!
Mariah & Jack Estes Park Wedding
I met Mariah at a bridal expo. She was clearly overwhelmed. My first question to her was if she was at the point in the planning process where she was interested in a photographer. She kinda had a deer in the headlights look of, “I’m not really sure yet.” So I asked if the whole event was too much stimulation, and the answer to that was obviously yes. So we just sat and chatted for a few minutes. And I figured out how super freaking cool she is. And surely enough a few months go by and I get an inquiry on my site from her. I was so freaking stoked. I am so unbelievably blessed to have been able to document her wedding. I brought my whole family to Estes park where we stayed at the YMCA for that weekend sledding. So that whole snowy weekend in combination with being graced with the award winning photographer https://liamgordon.photography as a second shooter, I was so pumped.
Jody & Brett Engagement Session at Glen Eyrie Castle
I had no idea this place was just sitting in our little Colorado Springs back yard. I thrive when shooting in new environments, so shooting in a place I had never been was exactly what the doctor ordered!!!
Teresa + Andy Elopement
Courthouse weddings are completely underrated. They’re intimate, affordable, practical, and give us a good amount of time to make some epic portraits
Synergy Dance Academy 2024 Benefit Show
This is one of those opportunities that when it falls in my lab I’m just blown away at how cool my job is. These girls are absolutely incredible at what they do. And I hope the images are as captivating as it was to watch these artists demonstrate their craft.
Noah + McKenna
This wedding was special for a number of reasons.
It was the last full 8 hour wedding of the year
We got to do their engagement session with a sick red hot rod Here
The families of both the bride and groom don’t just get along, theres a beautiful unity and support for the couple thats evident both on the day and I believe in the photos as well
my wedding photography mentor from over a decade ago flew out to second shoot for me 😉
Those are just a few reasons that I love this wedding. I hadn’t shot at Red Rocks barn before and was surprised to find it tucked behind what seemed to be a few parking lots near garden of the gods.
Please feel free to comment on this blog and let us know what you love too!!!
