Ceremony at Church with Reception at Denver Museum of Natural Science

I consider myself radically fortunate when people make the decision to prioritize photos in their day because of their love of my portfolio. Their engagement session if you haven’t seen it on the blog, was 5…. hours…. long…. 😂

In addition to that, I was at their wedding for 11 hours and between Liam (the second shooter) and I we made a record 18,202 total images during this wedding. It took me so long to go through 😅

Samantha & Lance Engagement Session at the Mining Exchange Downtown COS

This year has been a bit of a “re-self-descovery” in the realm of the enjoyment of photography. I finally got my hands on a Nikon ZF, which aside from being outside of my normal canon pantheon of body’s and lenses, it’s also retro styled to where it handles like a film camera. little things like the ISO wheel bing a large dial on the top, to having to put the camera down to grab my other gear, created this pace for me that made me slow down a little bit and really enjoy the process of working with Samantha and Lance. Noah + McKenna

This wedding was special for a number of reasons.

  1. It was the last full 8 hour wedding of the year

  2. We got to do their engagement session with a sick red hot rod Here

  3. The families of both the bride and groom don’t just get along, theres a beautiful unity and support for the couple thats evident both on the day and I believe in the photos as well

  4. my wedding photography mentor from over a decade ago flew out to second shoot for me 😉

Those are just a few reasons that I love this wedding. I hadn’t shot at Red Rocks barn before and was surprised to find it tucked behind what seemed to be a few parking lots near garden of the gods.

Please feel free to comment on this blog and let us know what you love too!!!
